Ottoman & Turkish auction results database

Source-linked realized prices, unsold lots and a method for researching comparable sales.

Sources checked: October 18, 2026

This starter database contains 5 sourced result records; it is not a live or complete market feed. Prices remain in the original sale currency. Whether “price realized” includes the buyer’s premium has not been confirmed. A group lot is not a single-coin comparable.

How do I get auction results?

  1. Find a completed sale on NumisBids and open “View prices realized.” Search Turkey, Türkiye, Ottoman, hatıra, the denomination and catalogue number.
  2. Open the exact lot, record its URL, sale date, lot number, currency, condition and sold/unsold status. A starting bid is not a sale.
  3. Check the auction house’s own archive, results PDF or account history. If a price is missing, ask the house for that lot’s realized result and whether fees are included.
  4. Use acsearch or Sixbid as additional discovery routes. Some historical price access requires an account or paid plan; verify coverage before subscribing.
  5. Compare several closely matched sales and include unsold examples. Adjust for premium, shipping, currency date, packaging, grade and lot size.

Why follow commemorative results?

Theme or series demand, box and certificate completeness, proof surfaces and available stock can create price differences beyond metal content. This is a valuation framework, not a prediction that every issue will carry a premium. Track the range of matched sales, unsold frequency and trading activity rather than one record price.

Collector questions, answered

Is a starting price an auction result?

No. A starting price or estimate is not a completed transaction. Record a confirmed realized price or mark the lot unsold or result unavailable.

Are the results live and do they include fees?

These are manually researched historical records. The fee basis has not been confirmed for the displayed results. Check the auction house’s terms before comparing all-in costs.
